Duterte administration starts internet censorship, block porn sites – report

The Duterte administration has just blocked the adult websites “pornhub.com” and “xvideos.com” from being accessed by internet users in the country.

As reported by a national daily, access to the adult sites were effectively blocked on Saturday.

Surfers will have difficulty viewing sites whether by using computers or mobile phones.

The government censorship of the sites was based on Republic Act 9775 also known as the Anti-Child Pornography Law. The law states that the porn sites are not allowed to host any child pornographic content.

It was not clear as of this posting what agency ordered the sites’ blocking or if there was verified content of child performance in any of the contents offered and made available online.

According to the report, Filipinos for three years in a row, ranked third in the world that devote more time on surfing adult content sites.

In another survey for 2015, countries below are top consumers of sites hosting porn content:
