The entertainment value of this NASA video is timeless. And it is not easy to beat even while already much dated.
Of course it was a parody of a song and dance number made famous by musical artist Psy (Park Jae-sang) released on July 15, 2012 by South Korean labels YG Entertainment together with Universal Republic and School Boy.
The parody was released a day less of five months after the original video has become viral and by then has caught the entertainment world’s attention.
The original Psy video has now gathered, and counting, Youtube views of over 2.73 billions, the NASA parody has a respectable view of over 6.09 million.
Known world leaders like former British Prime Minister David Cameron, outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama, and former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon also did parody of Psy’s viral moves while they were incumbent on their posts.
NASA is known to use footages taken from its various projects set to appropriate music for educational and related purposes. Also, one effective way to bring across the worldwide audience its reason for being.
