The provinces of Albay and Camarines Sur have declared class suspensions in all levels effective on Monday, Dec. 14, as the severe tropical storm “Nona” continues to threaten the Samar provinces and the Bicol Region.
Camarines Sur Gov. Miguel Villafuerte posted a memorandum announcing the province-wide suspension of classes in the province on his twitter account.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) of Albay also issued an advisory ordering the suspension of classes in all levels on Monday.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), storm “Nona” is expected to make landfall in Samar-Bicol area on Monday night, with 110 kilometers per hour (kph) of sustained windsnear the center and gustiness of 140 kph.
The agency said Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) No. 1 (30-60 kph winds expected in 36 hours) is hoisted over the provinces of Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon and Masbate, including Burias and Ticao Islands in Luzon; Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, and Southern Leyte in Visayas; and Dinagat province in Mindanao.
