The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to conduct mock elections on 13 February 2016 in 20 cities and municipalities nationwide, in preparation for the 9 May 2016 national and local elections.
According to Comelec, the mock elections will test and ensure the adequate security, accuracy, system and functional capability and integrity of the vote counting machines (VCM), transmission devices, and consolidation and canvassing system (CCS).
It also aim to simulate the conduct of election (deployment, voting, and consolidation) and transmission procedures.
The poll body also want to develop public confidence and acceptance of the Automated Filing System (AES).
Over 25 thousand registered voters are expected to take part in the mock elections.

In the Comelec table it showed the mock elections will sample a total of 25,609 voters but checking our total here only came up to 25,299 or a difference of 310.
