LEGAZPI CITY, March 9 — The suspect in the killing of a cousin of Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Luis Viilafuerte surrendered to Senior Supt. Marlo S. Meneses, Albay Philippine National Police provincial director, on Sunday morning inside Camp Gen. Simeon A. Ola.

Meneses identified the suspect as Manny Rey, 40 and a resident of Barangay Dayangdang, Naga City.

He said victim Jeff Villafuerte and Rey had an altercation inside the Milaor Cockpit Arena at about 2:00 a.m. March 2 about their fighting cocks, leading to the shooting of Villafuerte by the latter.

Gov. Villafuerte reportedly gave reward money for the capture of Rey, who said he had decided to give himself up to Meneses instead of hiding.

Albay police brought him to Camarines Sur for appropriate charges by the victim’s family. (PNA)
