President Rodrigo Duterte has designated Undersecretary Rosalina Bistoyong as Officer-In-Charge of the Department of Agrarian Reform.
She will occupy the vacated post of Rafael Mariano whose nomination was rejected by the powerful joint congressional Commission on Appointments last September 6.
Bistoyong is a career executive service professional in the government service for 28 years already. She has been the DAR undersecretary from 2010 up to her latest designation.
The interim assignment was confirmed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea so that Bistoyong can ensure the effective delivery of public service as covered by a Palace memorandum.
As previous Undersecretary of DAR, she has led numerous support services projects and discharged policy directions to CARP implementing agencies that benefited agrarian reform beneficiaries.
She is also credited for the implementation of support services for former landowners under CARP.
One of her advocacy is addressing the pressing problems brought by climate change in rural communities. (DAR)
