During the campaign period for the mid-term elections, President Benigno S. Aquino III. Aquino III, made whirlwind visits of cities and municipalities in the Bicol region. These video coverage courtesy of RTV Malacañang highlights the president’s campaign visit in the municipality of Calabanga at the Octagon multi-purpose hall.
President Benigno S. Aquino III met with the locals from the community of Calabanga, Camarines Sur to urge them to vote for leaders who will drive home government initiatives into actual projects and programs that the locality will benefit from.
President Aquino also mentioned several government projects being undertaken in the locality such as the rehabilitation of Sabang and San Vicente ports, and the Bicol Commuter Train which will improve travel time from Naga to Legazpi by April next year. He also added that Sabang-Calabanga Port has already been allocated with PhP 50 million that will be bidded out in August this year. He added that improved infrastructure projects in the locality would increase local trade and tourism.
President Aquino also assured them that their request for a municipality hospital would be funded as soon as the local government identifies a strategic site for the construction.
In addition, the President reported an increase of enrolled household beneficiaries under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) program in Camarines Sur, reaching 108,497 this year from 2010′s mere 3,970 beneficiaries.
