The Popular Pedal Trikes

Very popular among the folks on small towns is this means of transport where gas is not required to make it go the distance. It feeds on pedal power, endurance and foot strength of the trike operator.

The three wheeled pedal trike’s popularity is all over that from the town center (Parada) or the market, one can commission a ride to destination that could be as far as three kilometers, or even beyond. We tried many times from the town center up until the seaside barrio of Sabang, to the barangay of Sta. Cruz, and to Sta. Salud.

The operator is up and ready to go with just one passenger but charging a double ride. On sunny or rainy weather, the trikes are up with colorful umbrellas. For this particular photo, it even have plastic flowers! The ride is known as padyak.
