PH to send medical resources to Ebola-stricken W. Africa
The Philippines is sending medical resources to Ebola-stricken countries in Western African region according to President Benigno S. Aquino III. He said the Philippines will send medical resources in support of the global effort to help nations overwhelmed by the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. The president conveyed this Tuesday evening during a chat with Manila-based reporters covering his participation at the 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Summit here.

President Aquino arrives in Myanmar for the 25th Asean Summit
President Benigno S. Aquino III arrived here on Tuesday night to participate in the 25th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit which will be held at the Myanmar International Convention Center. After the plenary session, the President will take part in other related summits including the 12th Asean-India Summit, 17th Asean-Japan Summit, 6th Asean UN Summit, and Asean-Australia 40th Commemorative Summit. Aquino is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and a pull aside meeting with Australia Prime Minister Tony Abott.
Export growth of PH up by 15.7 per cent – NEDA
Philippine merchandise exports grew by 15.7 percent in September 2014, topping trade-oriented economies in East and Southeast Asia since June, according to the National Economic and Development Authority. The Philippines outperformed China (15.3%), Vietnam (14.4%), Republic of Korea (6.9%), Taiwan (4.7%), Indonesia (3.9%), Thailand (3.2%), Malaysia (3.0%), and Hong Kong (1.0%). Meanwhile, Japan and Singapore posted negative growth at -1.2 percent and -1.6 percent, respectively.
