Fifteen beautiful homegrown young maidens from different barangays of the town vie for the coveted crown of Miss Calabanga 2011.
The fairest maiden of all will grace the parade around major streets of the municipality in honor of the feast day of Our Lady of La Porteria.
One hopeful contestant, left, is Salve Cierva Garfin, 21 years old, height 5 feet and 4 inches, from San Roque.

We were at the town’s only public Catholic cemetery yesterday and visited our dear departed. Here in our place, as in the whole country, November 1st is designated by the church and the government as All Saints day.
Yesterday, during the pre-fiesta parade celebration, many of these institutions fielded representatives showcasing the showmanship, talent and faces of their students.
