During the traditional Filipino Simbang Gabi, His Eminence Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle shares his Christmas message urging fellow Christians and Filipinos to save lives, families, and creation.

Below text, part of Cardinal’s message:
“The mystery of Christmas is contrary to the drive, the desire and the impulse to destroy people, lives, families, societies and creation. Christmas reveals a god who comes to save, not destroy.
We are saddened and shocked to see how some people find pleasure and ‘success’ in having shattered other people’s lives. We are even more disturbed to see young people already bent on harming themselves and ending their lives. We are bothered because Christmas is about god’s will to save, not to ruin. so let us reclaim Christmas!
Celebrating the true spirit of Christmas means joining Jesus in fulfilling God’s plan of love, mercy and compassion that saves. The Christmas and beyond, let Filipinos be bearer of salvation, not of damnation. The glory of God radiates through people of good will.”
