Tourists and locals alike, are encouraged to take a stroll, enjoy, and shop at the fair which opened on September 8 and ends on the 19th.
On display and for sale items include handicrafts, tokens, home accessories, furniture, fresh and processed foods very much recommended for both locals and tourists. Souvenir items too are plenty in the fair.
The trade exhibition named after Bishop Francisco Gainza was revived and reinvigorated in Peñafrancia 2010 and soon became component of the festivities already.
One of the most active participants of the annual fair this year is the Consuelo Chito Madrigal Foundation-Bicol office, a non-stock, non-profit organization that seeks to create productivity, promote charity that enables capability and fight poverty through responsible entrepreneurship. CCMF Bicol as envisioned by the late Dona Consuelo, will continue to serve the less privileged by empowering more and more indigent Bicolanos through the countless opportunities that the foundation offers. Also available during the fair are products from Chito Madrigal Farm. Photo from facebook page posted by CMF on BFGTF
Behind the successful yearly mounting of the agro-industrial trade fair is the Archdiocese of Caceres through the Caritas-Caceres.
Thru the fair the archdiocese pushes the promotion of business by marketing Bicolano novelty as one element in highlighting various lines of expertise.
Every year it banners a timely theme. This Peñafrancia 2016, it is about “Experience tradition, showcase ingenuity, celebrate culture.”
The theme expounds on the high regard of Bicolanos for creativity and uniqueness in producing globally competitive products and crafts.
This also promotes responsibility in business as part of empowering the people’s deep sense of community.
The event is also geared at providing and broadening the opportunities for entrepreneurs engaged in micro, small and medium enterprises to showcase variety of products and promote “our very own resources”.
The fair is located along Elias Angeles Street, near the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral.
