The Philippine National Police has zeroed in on five local, meaning Philippine-based, entertainment personalities under surveillance with alleged link in illegal drug business. But while the agency knew of the personalities, it insists at urging the celebrities to surrender to the nearest police station at the soonest time instead of facing an arrest order.
It makes one wonder who among those in the local show business are still into illegal drugs. According to the Philippine National Police, there are five.
Now, the Philippine National Police has zeroed in on these five local, meaning Philippine-based, entertainment personalities under surveillance with alleged link in illegal drug business.
The PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (AIDG) already knew the illegal activities of the entertainers, even claiming it has knowledge of who of them are either users or pushers as confirmed by its Director Sr. Supt. Albert Ferro.
But while the agency knew of the personalities, it insists at encouraging the celebrities to surrender to the nearest police station at the soonest time. The other alternative would be facing officers knocking at their doors or anywhere sighted.
The AIDG chief hinted that there will be no special treatment of these celebrities suspected as drug users and pushers even while still refusing to name the five.
Earlier, Robin Padilla already voiced his opinion that it is better the administration do not make public the name of the entertainers.
Padilla supported the candidacy of President Duterte in the May 2016 elections.
