It is final. The Philippine Commission on Elections has released the final report of registered voters that will elect the next president, vice president, 12 senators, and other elective local government officials by May 9, 2016.
And 54,363,329 registered voters valid to cast their votes will make their final choice, a voice that will matter on that fateful day.
Table below shows the number of registered voters among the 17 regions. Voters of Negros Island, the newly created Region 18 out of Western and Central Visayas, uniting the two provinces of Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental are still in the count of their mother regions.
|NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION||6,253,249|
|CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION||906,162|
|WESTERN VISAYAS (including the province of Negros Occidental)||4,241,153|
|CENTRALVISAYAS (including the province of Negros Oriental)||4,375,756|
|NEGROS ISLAND REGION (included In Western and Central Visayas)|
|Total Number of Registered Voters||54,362,329|
This total is the final clean tally after about 2.5 million voters whose records have been deactivated due to non-compliance with the rule ‘No Bio Noboto’ or no biometrics, not valid to vote.
There will be 92,509 clustered precincts during election day.
But wait, the Comelec did not release the number of overseas registered voters (which include overseas Filipino workers)! Voters in this group can also spell the difference between winning and losing in an election!
