Is there a drug menace in the Bicol Region? At we read, and watch reports, coming in from the provinces and cities, there is some truth to the matter. Here’s another.

Joint operatives of the Nabua Municipal Police Station led by Police Senior Insp. John Murray C. Cutaran, officer-in-charge, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency RO-5 on Monday arrested a suspected drug pusher in a drug buy-bust operation at Zone 1, Barangay Bustrac, Nabua, Camarines Sur.

Caught was Louie B. Llanes, 33 and a resident of Zone 4, La Opinion, Nabua, after selling to a poseur-buyer one plastic sachet with white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu.”

The law enforcers also confiscated two plastic sachets with suspected shabu and three pieces of PHP100 bills used as marked money.

They seized pieces of evidence in the presence of witnesses from the Department of Justice, media and barangay officials.

The Nabua MPS is now readying the appropriate charges for violation of the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” against the suspect.

The recovered pieces of evidence will be submitted to Camarines Sur Provincial Crime Laboratory Office in Naga City. (PNA)
