Sandiganbayan sends Gov. Lanete to Bicutan detention center

On Friday the graft court Sandiganbayan sent Masbate Gov. Rizalina Seachon-Lanete to the detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City. She joins alleged pork barrel brains queen Janet Lim-Napoles and fellow suspect Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes.

Atty Laurence Arroyo legal counsel of the embattled governor said he was hoping that Lanete will be detained at the PNP custodial center> He recalled that there had been ambush attempts on the lady governor’s life before.

Much earlier the Office of the Ombudsman filed plunder, graft and malversation charges against the former member of the House of Representatives before the Sandiganbayan over alleged fraudulent transactions involving millions of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or “pork barrel” funds.

Prosecutors accused Lanete of pocketing P108.405 million out of the P112.29 million PDAF appropriations received by her office between 2007 to 2009.

Her staff Jose Sumalpong, businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles and John Raymond De Asis were named co-accused in the plunder case andf graft charges.
