Albay senior citizens celebrate early Valentines Day
LEGAZPI CITY, Feb. 14 — Various colors and scents of roses dominate the romantic atmosphere in Albay Astrodome here Thursday as grandfathers and grandmothers in Albay province celebrated an early Valentine’s Day.
Love was all over the airconditioned structure as the elderly lovebirds enjoyed an early celebration hosted by the provincial government of Albay.
The occasion had for its theme “Mga lolo at lola gabay sa responsableng pagpapamilya (Grandfathers and grandmothers, guide to responsible parenthood).”
At least 250 senior couples from the 15 towns and three cities of the province attended the occasion, according to Nerio B. Barbacena, Association of Senior Citizens in Albay (ASCA) president.
Co-sponsors of the affair are the Population Commission, Provincial Health Office, Provincial Population Office, Government Service Insurance System and Albay Association of Senior Citizens (ASCA).
Governor Joey Sarte Salceda led the event with Vice Governor Harold Imperial and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Albay.
