The Catholic faithful in Bicol paid last respects to the late Archbishop Leonardo Legaspi, former CBCP president and archbishop emeritus of Caceres who passed away at UST Hospital on August 8 of Friday, 5:00 A.M. at the age of 78 after a long battle with cancer.
His remains was flown from Manila via Legazpi airport to Naga city.
The whole of Tuesday was the day of prayer and mourning with all parishes, religious houses and institutions celebrating Mass.
Msgr. Legaspi’s remains was accompanied by a convoy of priests, private cars, police escorts on return trip to Legazpi airport on Wednesday morning.
At 2:00 p.m of August 15, a funeral mass at the Sto. Domingo Priory (Sto. Domingo Church) in Quezon City, will be held before the burial in the same venue.
