Miss Philippines Catriona Gray is crowned this year’s Miss Universe. This is the fourth crown won by a candidate from the Philippines in the history of the popular international beauty pageant.

Catriona Gray (Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray) was born 6 January 1994. She is a Filipina-Australian television host, singer, model and stage actress.
She first entered the limelight at a young age winning in noontime TV show Eat Bulaga in its segment on Little Miss Philippines in 1999.
According to Wikipedia:
“Gray was born in Cairns, Queensland to a Scottish-born Australian father, Ian Gray, from Fraserburgh, and a Filipino mother, Normita Ragas Magnayon, Oas, Albay. Gray is reportedly named after her paternal grandmother, Catherine Gray (née Ross), an immigrant to Western Australia from Scotland in 1952.”
“Gray was a student at Trinity Anglican School in Cairns.She received a degree in Music Theory from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition, she obtained a Certificate in Outdoor Recreation and a black belt in Choi Kwang-Do martial arts.”
“Gray was the lead singer of her school’s jazz band, and she also starred in local productions of Miss Saigon. After finishing high school in Australia, she then moved to Manila, Philippines where she worked as a commercial model.”
She is the fourth Filipina to win the pageant after Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margarita Moran (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).
Previously, Gray was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2018 and Miss World Philippines 2016.
