The 80’s popular rock band Journey finally got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last Friday. It was the 32nd year in a row of honoring musicians into the prestigious list of outstanding musicians that left an indelible mark in the music and entertainment industry.
But while the group have Philippine’s Arnel Pineda as the current lead vocalist, the original band members were actually honored with their huge picture plastered on the wide screen.
It was former lead vocalist Steve Perry that stirred ripples of enthusiam and specualtion on whether he would be attending the awards rite or not. During the actual show held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn New York City, Perry showed up and delivered his speech.
But Pineda made his mark too, on the perforances of the group ‘Separate Ways’ and ‘Don’t Stop Believing’.
Backstage, Perry met and embraced Journey’s current vocalist Pineda.
The April 7, 2017 event ELO, Joan Baez, Journey, Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur and Yes were inducted in the performer category, while Nile Rodgers was honored with an award for musical excellence.
