The number of drug fatalities, persons killed in the continuing campaign of the government against illegal drugs already passed 2,500 within a period of two months. The Philippine National Police update on Tuesday include 1,033 drug suspects killed and 1,405 drug-related deaths from July 1 to Sept. 6 were under investigation. In Bicol region from July 1 to Aug. 23, anti-illegal drug campaign has yielded 37 fatalitites already since July 1, a total of 2,331 drug pushers and 39,619 had voluntarily surrendered.

It is the same period of President Rodrigo Duterte’s tenure at the helm of the government.
The Philippine National Police update on Tuesday include 1,033 drug suspects killed and 1,405 drug-related deaths from July 1 to Sept. 6 were under investigation.
Arrrests were made on 15,193 inlusive of 15,905 operations conducted by the national police with its Oplan “Double Barrel” campaign.
Police have visited, knocked and warned occupants with suspected drug users and pushers now at 709,866.
Surrenderees topped 687,953 which include 485,634 pushers and 639,319 users.
Meanwhile, the Bicol Police Regional Office records showed the anti-illegal drug campaign has yielded 37 fatalitites already since July 1.
Bicol’s top cop Chief Supt. Ramon Melvin Buenafe earlier disclosed 34 chiefs of police in the region were relieved from duties on Aug. 23 due to “poor performance” in the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.
He said 30 percent of the 114 police chiefs assigned in the 108 towns and six cities in Bicol were affected by the relief of the police officials.
Earlier, on August 24, Buenafe said that from July 1 to Aug. 23, a total of 2,331 drug pushers and 39,619 had voluntarily surrendered.
During the same period, 333 were arrested, 53 firearms seized and 1,140 shabu sachets seized with a street value of P306,087.
