Fund for the construction of the much delayed project of Bicol International Airport was already approved by the Department of Transportation and Communications.
According to Albay Gov. Joey Salceda, DOTC Secretary Abaya called him up last Friday that the P780-million fund for the project has already been awarded.
The now available fund will be used to finish a new ramp and jumpstart Phase 2 of the project.
Observers said one of the reason was the present administration’s failure to redeem its promise of completing the construction of Bicol International Airport.
The perception of that lack of support from the Aquino administration was confirmed when the provincial government was forced to make a loan for P500 million to support the hosting of the Palarong Pambansa 2016 last April which simply awed athletes, other delegates and spectators starting with grand opening of the national games.
