The second round of the Philippine presidential debate on Sunday at the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, had been delayed by one and one half hours.
The Visayas-leg of the PILIPinas 2016 said to be extended than the first in Cagayan de Oro City last Feb. 21, was supposed to start at 5 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.
The presidential candidates present were United Nationalist Alliance standard-bearer Vice President Jejomar Binay, independent candidate Senator Grace Poe, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of PDP-Laban, and Mar Roxas of the Liberal Party.
Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago skipped the Cebu debate to undergo a clinical trial for a new anti-cancer drug.
A TV broadcaster said the delay was due to a row on the use of notes in the debate between Roxas and Binay.
