Watch this. The national greening program in Bicol provinces. Although it is more of a prop video mouthing the government agency, still some information, including facts and numbers, make a good conversation piece. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources is one of the lead agency with thrust in conservation of natural resources.
The downside here is that one particular line agency under its wings, the Bureau of Mines and Geosciences, is into (whatelse) the positive proliferation of mining around the country. Hence, the present predicament of residents in some affected areas in Rapu-rapu town of Albay, in Bicol, to name one. It is like one hand is trying to preserve the environment while the other hand is doing the opposite.
Take note of the errors in the presentation:
1.Typhoon Yolanda devastated many parts of the country beginning November 8, 2013. Erroneuosly referred in the video as 2014 (video time reference at 1:47)
2. Bicol region is not a province, it is a Region, Region V, (video time segment 6:11) The script kept interchanging and referring to “lalawigan” (province) and “rehiyon” as one and the same.

Why there was no mention of the mangrove projects in the province of Camarines Sur in the video presentation? There is this continuous animosity between Albay and Camarines Sur, even government employees tend to ride forgetting they should be neither partisan nor subjective.
