Fire burns Jose Panganiban public market during Typhoon Ruby

Daet, Camarines Norte — Fire burns Jose Panganiban public market at the height of Typhoon Ruby. An estimated P10-million worth of goods and materials at the grocery section of the public market of the Jose Panganiban town of Camarines Norte went up in smoke early Monday morning while the town was under Typhoon Signal No. 2.

A report said the fire started around 2:00 a.m. Monday at the grocery section of the market and immediately spread to the other parts of the building.

It took over two hours for the members of the Bureau of Fire and Protection of the town to quell the fire by 4:20 in the morning.

BFP officials have yet to determine the cause according to Edgardo Magana, town market administrator.
