Updated classification of Bicol towns based on 2008 earnings

Based on annual earnings listed here and here, the towns of Libon (ALB), Daraga (ALB), and Daet (CAN) led the top earners of Bicol LGUs for fiscal year 2008.

Other towns now classified as first class that earned P55M or more, in order of their income starting from the top fourth include Labo (CAN), Libmanan (CAM), Bulan (SOR) Bulanm (SOR), Pili (CAS), Polangui (ALB), Aroroy (MAS), Virac (CAT), Guinobatan (ALB), Tiwi (ALB), Calabanga (CAS), Milagros (MAS), Buhi (CAS), Nabua (CAS), Irosin (SOR), Castilla( SOR), Tinambac (CAS), Ragay (CAS), Pilar (SOR), Bula (CAS), Oas (ALB),

Also classified as first class towns: Tigaon (CAS), Sipocot (CAS), Camalig (ALB), Goa (CAS), Cawayan (MAS), Jose Panganiban (CAN), Cataingan (MAS), Lagonoy (CAS), Placer (MAS), Caramoan (CAS), Gubat (SOR) Bacacay (ALB), Rapu-Rapu (ALB), Paracale (CAN), Claveria (MAS), Uson (MAS), Baao (CAS, Donsol (SOR), San Pascual (MAS), Mercedes (CAN), Minalabac (CAS), Pasacao (CAS), Pio Duran (ALB), Santa Elena (CAN), and Basud (CAN).

Of the six provinces, Camarines Sur topped the list with 16 first class LGUs, then Albay with 10, Masbate with 8, Camarines Norte with 7, Sorsogon with 6, and Catanduanes, 1.

Thirteen towns classified as 2nd class earned P45M but less than P55M: Mandaon(MAS), Vinzons(CAN), Malinao (ALB), Balud (MAS), Bato (CAS), Capalonga (CAN), Juban(SOR), Magallanes (SOR), Caramoran (CAT), Matnog (SOR), Barcelona(SOR), Lupi (CAS), and Santo Domingo (ALB).

There were 24 LGUs that registered earnings of P35M but less than P45M as 3rd class municipalities: Sagnay (CAS), Del Gallego (CAS), Palanas (MAS), Garchitorena (CAS), Canaman (CAS), Bulusan (SOR), San Andres (CAT), San Jacinto (MAS), Pamplona(CAS), Casiguran (SOR), San Jose (CAS), Baleno (MAS), Ocampo (CAS), Dimasalang (MAS), Milaor (CAS), Mobo (MAS), San Fernando (CAS), Malilipot (ALB), Balatan (CAS), Viga (CAT), Manito (ALB), Pio V. Corpuz (MAS), Monreal (MAS) and Magarao (CAS).

The town of Siruma (CAS) led the list in the 4rth class towns that earned P25M but less than P35M. Pandan (CAT), Presentacion (CAS), Talisay (CAN), Bato (CAT), Prieto Diaz (SOR), San Miguel (CAT), Esperanza (MAS), San Fernando (MAS), San Lorenzo Ruiz-Imelda (CAN), Cabusao (CAS), Gigmoto (CAT), Camaligan (CAS), Baras (CAT), Sta. Magdalena (SOR), Batuan (MAS), Panganiban (CAT) and Bagamanoc (CAT).

Three towns classified as 5th class with earnings of P15M but less than P25M: San Vicente (CAN), Bombon (CAS) and Jovellar (ALB). Gainza (CAS) is the lone LGU in 6th class.
