WATCH: Found perfect container for sprouting mung beans

A collapsible, retractable versatile colander is just right.
A collapsible, retractable versatile colander is just right.

I found this perfect alternative container for effectively growing mongo or mung bean sprouts for family use. And perhaps, good for soy beans, too.

Thanks for joining me as I scrutinize this new found kitchen aid.

In the past I have been using the big blue bowl which gives me an enormous harvest of mung bean sprouts.

Then later I thought of using smaller bowls which prompted me to improvise out of plastic containers. I then shared the experience of making holes on plastic containers last year. At first it seemed okay and looked very personalized.

My fancy for the containers did not last long and I returned to using the big bowl.

But my recent visit of the neighborhood store, I chanced upon this thing which attracted my attention. It was the last piece on display.

I bought it and hope to make use of it in my sprouting activity. I also liked the color of this flexible collander.

While it has less holes on the side, I presume the bottom holes are sufficient enough to drain water. By the looks of it, this will stay with me for a long time for all my small size sprouting needs.

This early I liked this collapsible or retractable collander already.

So I will go ahead test growing mung bean sprouts and share the experience next.

And by the way the “magic black shirt” (which really is blue) used on my first video on sprouting posted years ago returns. I considered it as a lucky shirt which I have treasured all these years for the purpose of sprouting.

I will also share unpublished videos on my sprouting experiences using the small plastic containers and then some more notes. And that will be next time.
