One dead, four others injured by riding in tandem attack in Tabaco City

TABACO CITY, Nov 3 — Armed men riding-in-tandem sprayed bullets on a group of five men, leaving one dead and four seriously wounded at predawn Wednesday here.

The fatality was identified as Joseph B. Borleo, 24 years old.

Borleo was engaged in a conversation with four companions along the roadside in Purok 4, Barangay San Roque, about 12:20 in the morning when the gunmen struck.

The gunmen were sighted wearing black jackets and helmets on board a scooter type motorcycle.

Upon arrival they wasted no time and peppered the five men with bullets for still unknown reason or motive.

Injured Borleo was rushed to the Ziga Memorial District Hospital in the city but pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

His companions were identified as Eddie M. Buela, Christopher B. Pifaño, Jose C. Tuscano and Ronald B. Broso.

All four men were brought to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital in Legazpi City for treatment of serious physical injuries in different parts of the body.

In an interview, Jennifer, the sister of Borleo said Joseph went outside their house for fresh air. Their mother even reminded and cuationed him not to wander far.

The police are still investigating the possible motive of the crime. (with PNA report).
