CAIRO, March 29 — An Egyptian passenger plane flight MS181 en route from Alexandria to Cairo was hijacked and landed at Larnaka airport on the south coast of Cyprus, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation and Cyprus state radio.
It was also confirmed that the plane’s pilot was threatened by a passenger with a suicide belt.
The Egyptair plane carried about 80 people on board, among which a man was suspected to have carried a bomb, Cyprus state radio said. (PNA/Xinhua)

NICOSIA, March 29 — Cypriot security authorities said on Tuesday women and children on the hijacked Egyptian plane were released.
An Egyptian passenger plane en route from Alexandria to Cairo was hijacked and landed at Larnaka airport on the south coast of Cyprus earlier in the day, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation and Cyprus state radio.
The Egyptair plane carried about 80 people, among which a man was suspected to have carried a bomb, Cyprus state radio said.
