Watch here the full coverage of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s first State of the Nation Address at the Batasan Pambansa complex in Quezon City.

Live stream event could start earlier for backgrounders, some behind the scene details and more, but the program proper starts about 2:00 PM, July 25, 2016.

One stark contrast on SONA’s of previous presidents is the change in stance and treatment of street protesters mostly stirred by leftist organizations by the police authorities.

Where before buses that carry thousands of protest marchers are blocked from entering Metro Manila or allowing them to reach the periphery of the Batasan, now the atmosphere is different.

Truckloads of sympathizers and members of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan coming from Mindanao and the Bicol region were not blocked by soldiers or police officers.

Also members of Gabriela, Kilusang Mayo Uno, and other rally participants are not occupying the streets to protest but to support the presidency of Rodrigo Duterte.

The main objective of rallyists would be to deliver support on the progressive and pro-people policies of the president.

It remains to be seen if the President himself will give the street supporters an opportunity to meet him in person either before or after his SONA.

After all the drumroll above, let’s now watch the SONA:

Below is the full coverage which include hours before the formal SONA of the president:
