Pope Francis brings to Vatican vestments used in PH masses.
MANILA, Jan. 21 — Not only was Pope Francis impressed of the huge attendance during his public appearances. Other than the Pope mobile, he also liked the vestments he used during the Papal Visit.
There were three vestment Pope Francis used during the Eucharistic celebrations in Manila and Tacloban. Two he brought back to Vatican upon his departure at the Villamor Airbase last Monday.
Those were vestments used in the Holy Mass at the Manila Cathedral had bamboo leaves design and at the Luneta Quirino grandstand with anahaw handiwork.
“The Pope was so touched of the gifts,” according to former Ambassador to the Vatican Henrietta de Villa.
“Yung mga ganun na regalo sa kanya sa Pilipinas talagang he will keep it as his own . . . parang souvenir ‘yan ng puso, ng love of the Filipinos,” de Villa added.
De Villa said the Pope gave him a rosary when she was invited as one of the personal audience of the Holy Father at the Apostolic Nunciature last Sunday.
