Those were vestments used in the Holy Mass at the Manila Cathedral had bamboo leaves design and at the Luneta Quirino grandstand with anahaw handiwork.

“The Pope was so touched of the gifts,” according to former Ambassador to the Vatican Henrietta de Villa.

“Yung mga ganun na regalo sa kanya sa Pilipinas talagang he will keep it as his own . . . parang souvenir ‘yan ng puso, ng love of the Filipinos,” de Villa added.

De Villa said the Pope gave him a rosary when she was invited as one of the personal audience of the Holy Father at the Apostolic Nunciature last Sunday.
