MANILA, Dec. 9 — Employees of the Department of Labor are poised to receive P10,000 bonus with official announcement from the President Benigno Aquino III on Monday as the agency marked its 80th anniversary.
Aquino made the announcement as he lauded the department and Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz for a job well done.
“May anniversary bonus na P10,000 para sa bawat empleyado. Nawa’y magsilbi itong insentibo at magbigay ng lakas sa bawat isa (Each employee will receive P10,000 as anniversary bonus. This would serve as an incentive for a job well done.) ,” Aquino told DOLE employees at the Occupational Safety and Health Center in Quezon City.
“Wala akong masasabi kay Secretary Linda kundi paghanga. Hulog sa akin ng langit si Linda (I am all praises for Secretary Linda. She is heaven-sent),” he added.
Aquino cited that in 152 notices of strike and lockout for 2013, only one went on a strike.
“Ito ang pinakamababa sa kasaysayan ng DOLE. Buhat nung 2010, mababa ang bilang ng mga strike. Sumasalamin ito sa single entry approach ng DOLE (This is the lowest in DOLE’s history. Since 2010, there is a low number of cases of strike. This mirrors the single entry approach of DOLE) ,” he said.
“Dahil sa DOLE, maipagmamalaki natin ang pagkakaroon ng stable industrial peace climate sa bansa. Mas nahihikayat ang mga investors (We are proud that because of DOLE’s work, there is now a stable industrial peace climate in the country which translates to more investors),” he added. (PNA)
