MANILA, Dec. 10 — President Benigno S. Aquino III will be no-show in the 25th ASEAN-ROK commemorative summit in Busan, South Korea.
Earlier, reported here that the president will be off to South Korea on December 11-12, 2014 for the symbolic commemorative meet.
Palace assistant spokesperson Abigail Valte told reporters in a press briefing in Malacanang on Tuesday that Aquino will concentrate on relief efforts in the aftermath of typhoon Ruby.
Valte admitted that the President has been feeling a “little unwell” but said that is not the reason why he is skipping the summit in South Korea.
President Aquino on Tuesday also cancelled his speaking engagement at the 1st National Competition Conference at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
The cancellation of presidential trip will save the government coffers a few millions of pesos.
