CAMP GEN. SIMEON A. OLA, Legazpi City — Two Albay local police chiefs get the ire of their superiors very lately, that eventually get axed in the current cleansing of the force in the region.

The Bicol regional police office here has formally removed two police chiefs from their respective posts reportedly for poor performance.

Regional director Chief Supt. Victor P. Deona said he has replaced Legazpi city police head Supt. Robert Morico with Supt. Rommel dela Rama from Camarines Norte.

Rapu-Rapu municipal police chief Senior Insp. Gilbert P. Otivar was replaced by Senior Insp. Virgil Bibat from the town of Daraga.

Morico and Otivar were reportedly removed from their post because of the unchecked volume of criminality incidents in their respective areas of responsibility and non-reporting of certain crime incidents in their jurisdiction to higher authorities.

Dela Rama and Bibat, however, will occupy their respective posts as officers-in-charge to provide continuity to the operations of their offices.

Deona also said there is a scheduled revamp of police office heads from provincial to municipal police offices before the year ends.

Earlier in October, reported here were 6 police chiefs also removed from their present posts.
