Bicol’s man in Washington trace roots from Calabanga.

You read it right. The man you are staring at is Ninio Hilario Fetalvo, one of the assistant press secretary of President Donald J. Trump in the White House.

As the administration of the new POTUS takes shape, 23 year old Ninio Hilario Fetalvo was taken in Jan. 23rd to work with three other assistant press secretaries who then report to three deputy secretaries under the office of Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

Fetalvo earlier worked as Florida Communication Director for Republican National Committee under Spicer.

After finishing high school, he majored in political communication at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. Although intending to pursue a degree leading to a career in law, an internship at the RNC made his focus deviate to pursue a political career.

The young avowed Republican trace his roots from one of the poblacion barangays in Calabanga town whose parents emigrated to the United States of America. He was born on May 1, 1993 in Fort Myers, Florida.

A report said that more Filipino Americans identify with the Democartic Party, or 54 percent, as compared to only 16 percent registering with the Republican Party.

Quite ironic that the young Fetalvo said in an interview that he “firmly believes that the values and principles of the Republican Party coincide with the political priorities of the Filpino Americans.”

It must be recalled that within one-week in his office President Trump issued an executive order that sent quivers, uncertainty and disruption to thousands of hopeful immigrants with an initial ban on entry of Muslim into the United States. Many consider the move as the cap to the American dream of many hopefuls, including Asians and Filipinos.
