Taking off a break from the sweltering heat with an extended dip in a local pool in Barangay Binanuaanan Pequeno of Calabanga.
The general population would readily welcome rain any time of the day to offset the sweltering effect of heat, like the short episode of raindrops yesterday afternoon in some parts of Camarines Sur.
Yet, the country will remain storm-free in the next three days, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday.
PAGASA has not seen any weather disturbance near the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that may develop into tropical cyclone until weekend and expects zero to one tropical cyclone to affect the country this month.
Weather forecaster Jun Galang said the weakening southwest monsoon continues to affect extreme northern Luzon.
Galang noted the ridge of high pressure area continues to affect the rest of Luzon and Visayas while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect southern Mindanao in the coming days.
On Thursday, the southwest monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.
Light to moderate winds coming from the south to southwest will prevail over the rest of Luzon and from the southeast to south over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas.
The state weather bureau has not issued gale warning as the fisherfolks are safe to venture into the seas.
