MANILA, Jan. 8 -– PAGASA reiterates its warning about sailing in waters off the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon and the Visayas. Expect rough to very rough seas with waves between 3.4 to 4.5 meters high as strong to gale force winds associated with the northeast monsoon are forecast to affect the area.
”Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5:00 a.m. gale warning issued Wednesday.
PAGASA expects 52 kph to 63 kph winds in Southern Luzon’s eastern seaboard covering the Camarines provinces, Catanduanes province as well as the eastern coast of Albay, Sorsogon and Quezon provinces including Polillo Island.
The agency said these areas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
PAGASA also expects 52 kph to 63 kph winds in Samar and Leyte provinces along the Visayas’ eastern seaboard.
Such provinces will likely experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, PAGASA added. (PNA)
