Typhoon Auring makes second landfall in Bohol

In its recent update, the state weather bureau said typhoon Auring made a second landfall over Ubay in Bohol province. Residents of areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) No. 1 are warned of possible flash floods and landslides.

Areas under TCWS No. 1 are Cuyo Island, Bohol, Siquijor, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Southern Leyte, Cebu including Camotes Island, Guimaras, Capiz, Iloilo, southern part of Antique and Camiguin.

‘Auring’ has a maximum winds of up to 45 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 75 kph.

It was last eyed in the vicinity of Talibon, Bohol or 40 km southeast of Mactan, Cebu. PAGASA said there is a possibility that “Auring” will landfall over Cebu on Monday noon.

8,700 passengers stranded in Visayas, Mindanao due to ‘Auring’

The Philippine Coast Guard reported that a total of 8,767 passengers were stranded due to tropical depression ‘Auring’ as it suspended 463 rolling cargoes, 173 vessels and 60 motor bancas in various parts of Visayas and Mindanao.

A total of 3,438 passengers, 85 rolling cargoes, 87 vessels and 25 motor bancas were stranded in Central Visayas.

In Western Visayas, 1,268 passengers were stranded as 108 rolling cargoes, 24 vessels and 19 motor bancas were not allowed to travel.

Meanwhile, 1,211 passengers, 158 rolling cargoes, 5 vessels and 1 motor banca were stranded in Eastern Visayas.

A total of 2,850 passengers, 112 rolling cargoes, 57 vessels and 15 motor bancas were stranded in Northern Mindanao.
