However, the Department of Public Works and Highways third engineering district in the province has identified alternative routes to flush the traffic in the area.

The identified alternative route and the shortest is one that traverses San jose and Saguorong both in Pili but for light vehicles only. The route designated as C is dedicated for heavy vehicles from San Isidro, Pili – Mataoroc – Malitbog, Minalabac- San Antonio, Milaor and exiting Palestina, Pili.

Last year, the DPWH released the first version of alternative route A for buses, trucks and loaded vehicles passing thru Grijalvo (San Fernando) – Antipolo, then Hobo (Minalabac) – Ombao (Bula) and exit Pawili (Pili) and vice versa.

Alternative route B is dedicated for light vehicles that will traverse Amparado (Milaor) – San Fernandp, FVR bridges 1, 2, 3 and 4, Mataoroc, (Minalabac)- Tagbong, San Isidro (Pili) and vice versa.

Route C is for light vehicles only from Palestina (Pili) – Maydaso (Milaor) – FVR bridges 1, 2, 3, 4, Mataoroc (minlabac) – Tagbong, San Isidro (Pili) and vice versa. Whiel the shortest route for light vehicles is one that traverses Sagurong and San Jose, both in Pili.

One of the downside about these identified alternative routes include current road re-blockings in efffect, narrow roads, and some poorly maintained with numerous pot holes, which may cause traffic bottleneck.

The local Pili police force formed a strategy to lessen the inconvenience of motorists and travellers that will pass the area though. Aside from the police personnel, the Pili transport and traffic enforcement group will be on hand to help direct the flow of traffic.

Exactly the glaring problem when there is only one major highway that traverses Bicol region. No alternative. No option.
