Road to Raw Food(s), Episode 10, Video 9
Road to Raw Foods share how to grow and sprout mongo beans in six days. Growing mongo sprouts, also known as mung or moong bean or green gram or golden gram, is a fun learning process.
Here, Danton shoot the videos on successive nights (Day 1 up to Day 5) between 12:00AM and 1:00 AM. Day six, the great harvest day, was filmed on an afternoon, though.
Mongo bean sprout is a staple part of many Filipino and Asian families in their (daily) cooking. There is no need to buy the sprout from the market as it is more easy and fun growing at the confine of one’s home. There is also that full assurance the sprouts were grown in verified clean environment.
It is best to grow the beans and harvest the sprouts on the fifth day. but for this demo, it was extended up to the sixth day so as to really grow some more roots and leaves. Much of the harvest was destined for drying and eventually for grinding. Dried, grounded mongo sprout is a healthy ingredient for fruit and vegetable smoothy.
