Can’t get enough info about the hardworking VP?

Here’s a throwback post about VPOP Leni Robredo on yet another achievement, small as it may.

This time, a fruitful and happy outcome out of her effort spearheading flagship program ‘Angat Buhay.’

Way back in May of this year she delivered the much needed kitchen utensils, tools and equipments for the senior high students of Santa Maria National high school in Barangay Concepcion Norte of Santa Maria town in Romblon province.

The equipments came a long way from Metro Manila to the rural barangay which travelled by land (from the big city to Batangas port), by boat (from Batangas to Odiongan port), and land from Odiongan to the other side of the island of Tablas in Santa Maria.

The equipments were donations from Ramesh Trading, one of the partner entities of Angat Buhay.

The common problem of education in the country is systemic and wrought with challenges. On this particular instance, the senior high school program came up with courses that are still in the drawing board and yet got implemented without budget and logistics support.

So courses on Human Resource Management, one in which students are taught how to cook but there are no kitchen utensil or equipment available. Go figure how students will learn and practice the craft.

Or, to illustrate it one more time: It is like organizing a basketball team, when there is no ball and a basketball court. Clear enough?

Anyway, let’s watch the short clip below:

The beneficiaries were too happy for the needed equipments. But in contrast, made us recall when Camarines Sur rejected the hospital equipments solicited by Robredo for the only (rural) hospital in the town of Calabanga.
