MANILA, Dec. 24 (PNA) — Expect heavy rain over Bicol region and Quezon province that may cause flashfloods and landslides on Christmas eve, PAGASA said on Tuesday.

In its advisory, the weather agency said that northeast monsoon affects Northern Luzon while a trough of low pressure area is affecting Mindanao.

PAGASA said the regions of Mimaropa, Davao, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Visayas and the province of Aurora will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms while the regions of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos and Cordillera will experience cloudy skies with light rains.

It added that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA also said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.

PAGASA also said strong to gale force winds associated with the northeast monsoon will affect the seaboard of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts along these coasts were advised against venturing out to the sea, while larger sea vessels were alerted against heavy seas. (PNA)
