Mt. Isarog, The Majestic

This is Mt. Isarog, a dead volcano nestled at the heart of Camarines Sur province of the Philippines. It is the highest forested peak in the southern portion of the island of Luzon with a height of 1,966 meters (6,450.13 feet) above sea level. It has a total land area of 10,112.34 hectares (24,987.96 acres) shared by six towns and a city. The town of Calabanga has jurisdiction on some 589.44 hectares (1,456.4 acres) of the now declared Mt. Isarog national park.

Three barangays (villages) of the town are located here: Comaguingking, Harubay, and Lugsad with a combined population of 4,142.
Isarog is a volcanic cone mountain with rugged slopes formed by narrow gorges, rivers, streams and creeks. The terrain ranges from gradually sloping on elevation of 700 meters and below to steep slopes beyond that.

    Hi Japa, at first I thought it’s the Mayon Volcano. I haven’t seen much of Mt. Isarog’s photo and I thank you for sharing it.

    The windmills are exactly located in Bagui, a town prior to Pagudpud if you’re driving from Laoag.
