Saying that she was given only two hours to decide, Atty. Leni Robredo finally filed her COC at the local Comelec office in Naga city, about 3:30 PM on Friday for the congressional seat of the third district of Camarines Sur. She will be the official bet of the Liberal Party (LP).

Atty. Leni caught her children in surprise on the “impromptu decision” to run for the congress seat although her youngest daughter accompanied her in filing the certificate of candidacy. Eldest daughter Aika expressed that she and her siblings are against her political decision to run but instead should center on moving on.

The widow of former DILG secretary Jesse was recently elelvated to the position of chairman of the LP in the province.

The Facebook page urging the widow to run for senator movement is still up and has yet to re-transform into a different campaign page. It has so far gathered 5,354 followers.

Meanwhile, earlier on September 20, Atty. Robredo was in Legazpi city. She was the honoree at the launching and dedication of the Jesse M. Robredo Local Governance Institute of the Bicol University Graduate School Department.
