Watch this very informative movie presented by ScienceCast by NASA.
The Sun’s magnetic field is predicted to reverse sometime in the next three to four months. Instead of preparing for an end of the world event, there is nothing to fear, assures NASA. The sun’s magnetic field in the past has changed regulary, in fact, in an average of every 11 years.
This constant phenomenon, the regular flipping of the magnetic field, happens at the peak of each solar activity cycle as the sun’s dyanamo reorients. As the magnetic field reverses, the original magnetic field weakens, subsides and dies down only to emerge in a reversed polarity.
