Autonomous flying taxi soon in Dubai on July 2017

First, the driverless cars. Now what is Dubai up to next?

The city of Dubai, the modern capital of the Emirate of Dubai, one of seven that comprise the United Arab Emirates, is opening up to another first in the world.

It is because by July this year, passenger drones will get introduced in this global city and business hub of the Middle East.

The flying passenger drone is claimed “as the safest, smartest and ecofriendly low-altitude autonomous aerial vehicle that would provide short and medium-short distance transportation. It can operate within an area of 40 to 50 kilometers.”

The vehicle named Ehang184 by its Chinese manufacturers said in its promo video that it has got the absolute safety by design, automation and sync-flight management platform. It remains to be seen and tested on actual commercial operation by July 2017.

We are waking up to the year of flying vehicles only conceived in science fiction movies coming to full reality.
