It is not over until it is totally, finally over. But it would seem not yet, for the moment, when it comes to the disqualification case of front runner presidential candidate Senator Grace Poe.

For again, the Supreme Court of the Philippines (SCOTP) on Friday received a petition to reverse its decision setting aside the Commission on Elections (Comelec) disqualification of Poe to run for president in the May 2016 elections.

Petitioners filed a joint motion for reconsideration which include Atty. Estrella Elamparo, former Senator Francisco “Kit” S. Tatad, former University of the East (UE) College of Law Dean Amado Valdez and Dela Salle University (DLSU) Professor Antonio Cabrera asked the SC to reconsider its decision.

They asked the high court to affirm the poll agency decision that nullified the certificate of candidacy for president of Poe on questions of citizenship and residency, and also argued the SCOTP ruling favoring Poe was a “perversion of the Constitution”.

Last March 8, the Supreme Court of the Philippines (SCOTP) en banc ruled that Senator Grace Poe-Llamanzares is qualified to run for president in the May 9, 2016 elections.
