ABS-CBN news anchor and host Korina Sanchez-Roxas is being referred to as “Imeldific” and a “trapo” after her appearance and participation in distribution of checks and farm equipments to farmers in Mindanao.
The broadcaster wife of Liberal Party presidential standard bearer Mar Roxas was in the official government activity of the Department of Agriculture, in a ceremony held at Tagum City in Davao region last Saturday.
The presence of Korina in the DA program was also seen by political rivals, including United Nationalist Alliance presidential hopeful Jejomar Binay, who spewed fiery reaction, as the tendency of the Aquino administration to use government institutions in politics.
Not to be left behind, Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte barked foul on Korina having been seen with Deparment of Agriculture officials at the distribution of government procured farm equipments and agriculture money valued at P611 million.
Meanwhile, the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas alleged that Sanchez-Roxas’ participation is considered as “tantamount to vote-buying.”
The militant organization released a statement through its secretary general Antonio Flores that Korina’s demeanor before the farmers at the program is a preview of a Roxas presidency, “Imeldific, deceptive and corrupt.”
