Netizens accuse Liberal Party illegaly using government vehicle, resources, personnel in campaign for Daang Matuwid team

Malacanang on Friday said the Philippine Commission on Elections should investigate complaints that the Aquino administarion-supported Liberal Party was using government vehicles in the campaign sorties of Manuel Roxas II.

Persistent and sensitive users of social media posted photographs to support the observations.

Netizens posted photo of a red-plated vehicle, obviously registered for official use only of the government, serving a candidate’s interest, being used in putting up the yellow posters of Roxas.

Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda commended the (netizens) citizens for their vigilance and concern adding that there is no excuse for the use by local government of their vehicle by any supporter for any candidate.

Lacierda pointed out that the poll body has the responsibility and mandate to act on the complaints.

Yellow posters of Roxas were shown being put up, and a photo of a red-plate government vehicle was being used for the purpose.

The poll body reminded complainants should file formal complaints but only if they have sufficient evidence against any candidate.
