The Race to Malacanang opens, campaign season begins.

Happening now are the opening salvo of all five presidential, vice presidential and senatorial teams and candidates for the May 9, 2016 elections.

Five separate proclamation rallies are being held on strategic places around the country, also based on political preference and perceived bailiwick.

Sen. Grace Poe, Sen. Francis Escudero and the entire Partido Galing at Puso senatorial ticket will launch their campaign at the Plaza Miranda in Manila.

Vice President Jejomar Binay and Sen. Gregorio Honasan II of the United Nationalist Alliance will launch their presidential and vice presidential candidacy, respectively, at the Welfareville compound in Mandaluyong City.

Liberal Party standard bearer Manuel Roxas II, vice presidential candidate Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo and the administration party’s senatorial candidates will kick off their campaign in Roxas City, Capiz, the hometown of Roxas.

Senators Miriam Santiago and Ferdinand”Bongbong” Marcos are launching their first leg of campaign in the Ilocos region.
